Interesting read. Looks like a pretty nice skillet too. I'll stick with my Griswolds tho. I think 100 bucks for a number 8 is a little steep. But thanks for posting this, Ty. :)

Yes I have. There are a couple of other cast iron start-ups on Kickstarter. Lucky Decade and Nest Homeware both have interesting handles.

This seems to be a step above both of those with the extra finish on the inside of the skillet as well as being less money.

I don't disagree it is not pricey but compared to other modern cookware it is affordable.

I also agree a good "cooking" skillet can be had with a Griswold or Wagner #8 but I don't think anyone can supply say Williams-somoma or other cooking store with enough of those.

I give them credit, it looks to be well made.  I think I have enough #8s for several lifetimes.  If they start making #4s or #5s I will certainly consider it.  8-)

Well said. This holoween my doorbell rang. I went to answer it and nobody was there. But there was a stack of number three and number eight skillets.  :o :o

it seems there is quite a desire for these. They just topped $1 million dollars on kick-starter

WOW, good for them. ANYTHING we can make and sell in this country is good for business.  :)
