Tom sometime when you get a chance I wish you will share a story you told us on here one time. You were up in the mountains and you and another guy was staying in this cabin and you woke up in the middle of the night and it sounded like all hell was breaking loose in the kitchen with pots and pans going everywhere. Do you remember that Tom. And also about the lightning with the blue streaks coming off the horses shoes because of the nails and the horses shoes attracting the lightning. Do you remember telling us about that Tom? It probably got lost on the old forum but it was good stuff.

Hello Perry, I think it was Randy who called those "Tales from the Trails" and yes I do remember, actually have them saved in a folder.  I had started writing down my experiences before I got married, sort of documenting some family history for my nieces and nephews and their children.
Now that I am retired I hope to get back to my writing, before I start to forget the details.

At our WAGS convention in Des Moines, Iowa Tom loaded down his car with Dutch Ovens and came and cooked a wonderful meal for us all in his Dutch Ovens. I had the good fortune of helping him out. It was a wonderful time by all. Thank you again for doing that Tom because as soon as he was loaded up he headed back home as I recall. The pictures are here on the forum somewhere.

Hello Derek. You are very welcome. I'm glad you like the stories. But there is one other one, that I had in mind when I made this post, and Tom has not retold it here. And so I don't know where its at. Tom if you have it can you repost it again, and I promise to save this one too. Its about an unwelcome visitor in Toms kitchen/cabin up in the mountains.

Terrific stuff. Had me laughing here in bed this evening.

You "old timers" do a fantastic job of telling stories, which unfortunately isn't something my generation has done a good job of picking up, myself included.

I hope there are more to come.

The archived Forum is accessible to WAGS members also, and when I am aware that a post that was lost in the last upgrade, is worthy of recovery and needed, I will retrieve it, and provide it as I did above.   

I now have software that allows MUCH easier recovery of the missing material. :)
