I no longer have to dream of a white Christmas!  Our high temp today (Thursday) will be in negative numbers.  Not a complaint, just a fact!  Such is life in the Upper Midwest in December!

Happy Holidays everyone!

Sandy, would not mind the tough weather down here when it comes. BUT...It's our power grid that is controlled by our LYING state government officials. Follow the money and the alternative facts concerning maintenance & readiness :kaioken: :diablotin:

Well, it happened last night about 9:00. We lost power for the next 13 hours. For the most of the night, wind chill was -0 or lower and LOUD. We cranked up the faucet drip a bit and crawled under as much wool as we could put on the bed. Was like our old winter camping days. Aggravating part is we were the only road in our area to loose power. Once they got to it, took about 15 minutes to reset the "drop out". Yesterday's cold coffee had a good bite to it this morning

Duke, I hate to hear that.  We didn't have any problems.  It was about 9 degrees last night.  You sure appreciate the power when it goes out.  I hope you don't have any more issues with it.

Amazing what a little extra n the coffee will do to improve an otherwise not-so-great morning.
We got down to about 13 yesterday morning, with a brutal north wind. The power fluctuated off and on 5-6 times around 7  would stay off about a minute and come back on for a little while.  Let the dogs out about 6 this morning and my thermometer on the porch read 22 with a fairly brisk north wind. The projected high for today is 40 with 72 by the middle of the week.  I just love this roller coaster weather.  No place but Texas.

No lie, Duke, glad to see that you made it through the power loss. I was in the Nashville area in the late '80's when the Saturn plant construction spurred a building boom and had all the sub-freezing, snow-covered roads, busted pipes and loss of power I wanted.  This every other year or so relatively mild inconvenience is as bad as I want to endure anymore.
