S & P Phila pot value
« on: February 16, 2023, 05:35:36 PM »
I saw this cool piece today and was wondering what it was worth? They were asking 70. I cant seem to find any information on this foundry online and first I have seen that had a gatemark and name on it.

Hi Jesse!

That is an S&P sauce pan circa 1860's/70's.  I have one! (a 1 1/2 pt.)

Now I gave $16.00 for mine... (I am notoriously cheep...) and that was 10 years ago....

It is my opinion that $70 may be a tad high... especially if it is unrestored.

Possibly someone else will stop by with an opinion also....

I didn't notice if I had a cover. A complete sauce pot wood run about that much especially seeing it's marked. Certainly you want to find one cheap but how often do you see them?

Thanks Cheryl. One of the reasons I'm not a fan of antique shops, it seems like the prices are all quite high.

Scott, no lid for this but I may go back and see if I can get a better price on it. It was definitely a cool piece I have not seen yet
