Took a trip Saturday to put some flags and flowers on graves. This included my
Great grand parents buried in Lilac Texas. He served for the CSA in New Mexico and Louisiana. My Great grand Mother and her family were a part of the Siege of Vicksburg. The story goes the the citizens of Vicksburg took to caves cut into steep
banks above the Mississippi River during a river blockade commanded by U. S Grant along with others. She was about 8-10 years old at the time. I felt she deserved the flowers. About 7 years after the war, she came to Texas with her family.
Put flags on a cousins grave who was killed at Pearl Harbor along with a friend of his who also died there that day.
Our thoughts with prayers went out for them on this day of remembrance. May they RIP.
