Found something I'd never seen before, a Mexico copy of a BSR Skillet.

Has anyone seen the Mexico made BSR impersonators?  Are they well made?  From the photos they look like they are good quality castings.

They copied BS&R including their labels while BS&R was still operating, per Hugh Rushing. Mexico even used the BS&R label translating it into Spanish.

As one new to CI, I would learn a lot from comments re how these fake BSRs differ from the real thing.   [ch128522][ch128522]

Some are  pretty good copies, the only difference being the country marked on them. Sometimes they are slightly smaller.

Stew Pan.  Taiwan

There are Stew Pans with this type handle that are unmarked on the bottom that are being routinely identified as ASW/BSR.

I continue to question and disagree with those Identifications, because of the grooved handle on the underside...

Hmmm...if they copied the rest of the skillet then why would a grooved handle also not be copied from a USA made piece...not saying they are not Asian just throwing out the possibility.

Glad I signed in today and found this thread!  I have two "Made in USA" BSR "wannabes", a #12 and a #14.  Bought them to use, and neither was represented as a BSR product, so I am not unhappy with either.  Both appear well-made, but now I at least know what I'm putting on the stove, or on the fire.
