Grill pan cleaning

I was just curious what method some of you guys use to clean down between the grates on your grill pans. There doesn't really seem to be any easy way other than to boil some water in it. So what do you guys do?

Wire brushes like the ones Griswold sold decades ago are GREAT for this as well as cleaning waffle irons. They are small, flat and hand held. Available at welding supply stores. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
