Yes, what Roger said.  The hot oven should even out the color.

You really did a top notch job on that, Mary.  It certainly doesn't look like the same one you started with.

Thanks Sandy. I'm sure glad I was patient and able to get all that rust off.

Good evening folks,

Finally, I get around to posting pictures of the finished product.  I seasoned the griddle a few more times after taking the pictures and before giving it to my friend.  Both she and her husband were really happy with it.  They both wrote a card to me with their thanks (the griddle belonged to the husband's mother) and included a Starbucks card as a gift.  So I was pretty happy that it turned out so well.  A big thanks to all who helped here with advice and ideas.  Pictures to follow.

Thanks Sandy and Roger.  It took a long time to get that rust off, but I was happy with the result in the end. As Perry likes to point out - no good deed goes unpunished.  Even though the folks were appreciative and very kind, I spent so much time on this that I don't think I'll do an "outside" job again.  [smiley=huh.gif]

PS... the little bit of Windows 8 that I have seen has crossed my eyes!

I have been resizing your pics.
Try and aim for total file size under 250 KB for each pic.
The first set of photos I took back to 640 x 480, and the recent batch, slightly larger.
 :)

Is windows 8 what causes that Cheryl? I generally just don't look at them...they make me dizzy.

Not Windows 8 per se... it is just the need to learn how to resize pictures before posting, no matter what Version of Windows is used.  It just may be harder to find the software in Windows 8, or obtain the software.  Ditto for pictures from a Smartphone or Iphone... usually need an App for that.

Thanks Cheryl. It seems to me that it occurs when more than one picture is sent in a single post.

Negative.
'It' occurs when the pixel sizes exceed 800 x 600 for a picture (or pictures).
Sizes larger than that do not fit within (exceed) the table formatting of the post.

Each picture is attached separately, and will display based on the individual size of each.

If they are attached as different sizes, they will each display differently.
