30 amp charger
« on: October 20, 2014, 07:35:11 PM »
I have a charger that is fully automatic and 30 amps.  My question is: the posts I've read say to use a 20 amp charger for the electrolysis.  Is my 30 amp charger going to be too much? My charger is capable of a 12 amp automatic charge but I know this will slow the process down a lot.
Thanks, Steve.

Steve, 30 amps will definitely do the job... with a slightly higher than necessary electric bill... :)

The problem you will most likely encounter is that a fully automatic charger will simply stop sending current "on a whim", so to speak.

The circuitry on an automatic charger will reduce the amps, with no warning.... which is why we stress the use of a fully MANUAL charger only....

and I have the initially purchased, automatic chargers sitting on my work bench to prove it!   ;D ;D

Ok. That answers that.  Off to WM tomorrow for a manual charger and then to try out my electrolysis set up. :)
