16" gate marked spider skillet
« on: June 10, 2019, 04:35:29 PM »
 Hi Everyone,

I am brand new here and appreciate the opportunity to view and post information !   I have this 16" gate marked spider skillet and I love it for what it is,  but I must admit...….I am so very curious about it.  I've asked around but no one I've talked to has ever seen one of these.  I would be grateful for any information including  any idea of value.

Thanks very much !
Deb

That is a Martin Stove and Range piece.  Do you have a lid for it?

Thank you so much.  No, sadly I do not have the lid.

Does anyone have any idea of what the value of this skillet is without a lid.

I’ve seen the complete set sell for 400-500$ range. Without the lid it would be less.  Those lids can sell for 100-150$.

I forgot to mention you don't see these very often.  I've been collecting Martin a long time and have only seen a handful of them.  Nice find. ;)

Thank you all for the information. I now know this is a Martin Stove and Range and an approx. value.   I'd love to have a lid sometime in the future.   I am just happy to know I didn't sell it in my garage sale for 40 bucks like I almost did a couple of weeks ago.  Now when I go places, I will keep my eye out for interesting pieces.

Deb, here is a pic of the lid you need.  This is my #16 camp oven. The same lids fit the camp oven and spider skillet.
