Stover wafer iron
« on: June 19, 2005, 07:58:51 PM »
Is this the correct base ?  The base has notches and the paddles do not. Would the base be marked Stover?http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=976&item=6186571032&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

Also, does anyone have a recipe for the Wafers?  I found a pair of the irons without a base at a local auction yesterday.  They do fit my  cruso base perfect and can't wait to try them out.

IMO they do not go together since the paddles don't have the stop pins. If it works in a pinch, what the hey. You don't see these paddles often. JR, I'll bet you paid less than this for you're paddles. If it works with the base you have use it.  I have no idea on markings for the base.  Nice find on the paddles though.

This may be the first Stove wafer iron I have seen.  They have to be rare.  The base could be original for the irons as I don't think Stover would necessarily have made a separate base for the wafer irons if they could easily use their waffle bases.  Never have seen a marked Stover base.

Ed, there was one lady at that auction that really wanted those paddles, but they came home with me for less than the ebay ones . and no shipping cost .

Steve,  Could the wafer irons have been sold with the wafflle irons  to be used on the same base? sort of a two for one deal ?  Or could be bought extra to use on your waffle base?  Will have to wait for another set to show up to see what base it has.

I have no idea about your questions regarding if wafer irons came with waffle irons and one base.  I would think not but it would have been possible I guess.  So many unanswered questions.
