WAGS Membership?
« on: November 22, 2005, 07:48:00 PM »
I'm interested in the WAGS membership.  I've downloaded the form and it asked for a sponser.  I am very new to your site, but have already gained more than the cost of the membership fee (electro is nearing the point of adding 'soup').  I would be more of a sponge getting info from all, so my contributions would be limited.  Would my sending in the membership app. be the thing to do at this time?  Very much enjoy the WAGS site and info.

Thanks, Mike

Hey Mike,
I'll happily sponsor you if you promise to be a good member and have fun at "doing" iron.  Very simple and, yes, you should send in your membership right away.  Don't worry about sponging around; in time you may want to contribute but just by joining WAGS you will be helping all of our causes.

Welcome aboard Mike.  It may take a while (day or more??) to get your paperwork in order before you are switched to be able to access the other boards of the forum.  Greg knows more about that than I do.  Just a heads up that it isn't instant.  Thanks for the nice words about the forum.

Welcome aboard Mike.   Like Steve said,  may take a few days.   But you will get in soon.

Ask away,  we all are still learning stuff.

Mike, I don't think you ever stop learning.  Just a few weeks ago, a member posted a piece of iron no one had ever seen, or knew that it existed.  Joe Doucet posted a Martin #13 camp oven.  It's not in the books, but he sure has it.  Just one more reason to join up and see the whole site.  BTW I love all the questions because other people think to ask things I haven't thought of.   Welcome and glad to have you here.

Welcome, Mike.  Glad to have you aboard.  Now you can go to convention too!  When you get access to the full forum, check out all of the PDFs that are available.

As a general rule, how long does it take between mailing the check and becoming a member of WAGS?

I'm like a kid waiting for Santa. I keep pounding on the doors but no one will let me in!   :'(

Never said that patience is one of my virtues.  ;D

Mike and Lee: Thanksgiving might slow it down a bit. The joining process must be done by "snail mail". Welcome aboard. C B

While the "joining" process is slow, if you tell somebody that you have already sent your check and applcation in the mail, I believe that the benefits of membership only take seconds, by allowing access to the other parts of the forum. Thats my understanding anyway.

Actually the process is through a membership commitee review. One approved by the membership commitee then you can be added on the members board. It really isn't a case of once the check is received. This might slow the process some.

Mailed my checks on Nov 14th. for membership and the red & blue books. Books arrived last Saturday. (Thanks, Greg!) That's why I was asking how long the approval process for membership takes.

Lee (trying to learn patience....  :) )

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
