Wagner 1081 lid
« on: December 30, 2008, 02:48:44 PM »
Hello All,

Today I purchased a Wagner lid that has a p/n of 1081.  I am curious as to which skillet this fits?  I do not yet own the Red Book. but am going to get it today.  Thanks for any info.

Sincerely,

Jeff Seago

Hey Jeff. What you have there is for a 1088 extra deep #8 skillet. Also known as a deep chicken fryer. Nice find. I have the deep chicken fryer myself but I'm using a 1268 lid with it. It's for a 1268 drip drop raoster or dutch oven. It's workin for me now but if I come across a #8 drip drop roaster, I'll have a lid ready to go for it. Can't find your exact lid in the RB but I would venture to say it's worth about 20 - 30. This is only a guess so lets see what the others say.

Yep,  for the 1088 deep,  BUT there are 3 different 1088 skillet!!!   Ed A. has all the break downs,  but that lid has to go on one of the lipped skillets.   You will find lots of 1088 deeps with no lips.

Thanks Chuck.  I had read that it was made to fit on a 1088 extra deep skillet, but it won't fit on either of the ones that I have.  Thanks Will.  I did not realize that there were three styles of eight deep skillets.  This lid is larger than my 1088 B stylized logo, so I am wondering which style of extra deep pan it would fit on?

Thanks,

Jeff Seago

Hi Jeff, sounds like you need the early 1088 with pour lips. It's the largest of the three. Inside dia. 10-3/4", the later 1088 with pour lips is 10". Guessing the cover you have is not marked on top(raised letters), but has the four rings on it?

These skillets and covers in red book p. 27, 28. The dimensions given are not all that  accurate.
