« on: April 06, 2009, 06:42:33 PM »
Hi, my first post!!!
ive read a bit of information on some other diamond mark skillets, it seems like they can be a mystery sometimes, but i thought id post some pictures and see what you think? i just got this piece and have a bit of work to do as you can see.....so i have a few questions....
anybody have a guess on the make of the skillet or the lid? are they a match? im guessing the C in the diamond is for chicken?
 thanks for the help............Jordan

Welcome to WAGS, Jordan.  While there's no absolute concrete proof, the general consensus is that this may have been made by Favorite Stove & Range or Chicago Hardware Foundry with Favorite patterns after Favorite went out of business.  Wish I knew more, but I don't.

The C inside the diamond?  Who knows what that signifies.  Most of the regular skillets have size numbers inside the diamond.  Again, I wish there were more info available.

Just a thought but would the "C" stand for chicken as in chicken skillet as this ones appears to be?

Hi Will-  i cant find a diamond anywhere on the lid....but you are right there is an 8 1/2 on the underside of the lid, and maybe a faint "C" just after, but no diamond.  Thanks for the help!! Jordan

This is the first deep diamond I have seen with C. All the ones I have seen have an A inside the diamond.

I have also seen one of these with a double D inside of the diamond. Jeff Paden pointed out to me that the lettered marked ones usually appear only on the deep skillets. Has anyone seen any skillets or dutch ovens with the lettered marking?
