Lee, I think it might be a Martin.  Let me find mine and take a look at it.  Does it have a reinforcement pad where the handle attaches?

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

Roger,
I checked and mine doesn't have the reinforcement pad only a small 2 at the base of the handle
                                        thanks

I took a look at the Martins I have and they have only the 12 on the handle and no IN after it as well.  Sorry, don't know who made it, but I like the looks of it.  I wonder would a Lodge camp oven lid fit it?

I'm wondering the same thing about finding a lodge lid to fit it . The spider itself is in really good condition no pitting at all, but it does appear it might have been painted a flat black. I wonder why people do that >:( paint it up to make it look good.

Not sure, but that looks a lot like a Lodge.  Is it 12in x 4in deep @ about 16lbs ???  ( 1968 catalog )
The BSR camp skillets had a slightly different handle shape, from what I see in their catalogs.
