Sounds like a Wafer Iron (Krumkake iron to a Norwegian!).  Does it look like the picture inside?

There are two styles of handles, one that is a rod that goes into lugs cast into the iron, the other is a rod rivetted to the iron. Essentially no difference in value.

The hinge style is called a button hinge.  I think you can see why.  There should be a base this fits onto.  The base is the most difficult item to find.

Complete, if I recall correctly, the wafer irons can sell from $150-$200, maybe a little more depending on condition.  The paddles alone usually are between $40 and $60.  Again maybe more depending on who is wanting one.

Hi Brian.......Welcome to the WAGS Forum.  Do you or do you not have the base for the waffer irons???  You say you are moving back to California....from where???  If I'm not mistaking, isn't (951) Riverside, CA ???  Same as my prefix.  Maybe a cell #??  What kind and sizes of skillets??  What kind of pots???  You can post pictures if you want to.  You can only post one picture at a time unless you use something like Photobucket.

Welcome again,
Scott
