Ed you are correct the bottom of the handle does have a groove not a rib. It does look alot like the one you posted. Do the CHF items have any markings? this pan is bare. We found it hanging on a wall at an antique store on the Washington coast.

They marked their skillets and most covers with large numbers, 83, 85 ,87 etc. Never seen a marked broiler from them. The broilers have been ID'd from illustrations and descriptions in early catalogs, like Sears & Roebuck..
You'll find them with different styles of hammering also.
Thats a nice piece and a first for me. When or if you get tired of looking at it, I'd love to add it to my hammered items.. ;) ::)
