The tube that these were attached to was loaded with rust flakes. I can't get the ends off to clean it out, and check on the condition. A gas leak on this thing worries me.

I would have to remove the fitting on the one end. Is the fitting removable? That's the end that threads into the burner. Do you have 2 of them the same? Let me know.

Yes, it's loose.  I thought I had three or four full sets, but this is the only ones I found.  Man I need to get organized.

No problem Gene. Does anyone know if these are available new anywhere. Unless someone has a vintage set that they would be willing to part with. I think the taller one that Gene showed may cause a clearence problem. I don't know if it would be a problem it the valves are higher than the cooking surface of the stove.

Gene's are the varialbe orifice valves, there should be a needle like valve under the cap.  Those aren't pipe threads on that end of the valve.

One end has pipe threads on min. That's the end that threads into the tube that runs along the front. The other threads go into the burner. No taper to it. It just seats against the flange on the valve.

I would take a complete one to a place that sells plumbing and heating supplies. If they don't have it, maybe they could go through their books and order a couple for you.

Thank you Sam. I was thinking the same thing. I'm a little concerned about using the old ones anyway. I'll see what I can find.

I have the stove out of the electro, and like I thought, it is plated. Plating is about 50%. Replating wouldn't be very cost effective, although it would look really nice. I'm thinking of just painting it.

I can't find any info on the maker. The only markings are the name COLUMBIAN and an A. I posted a pic of it in the beginning. I'm not sure you can even see it though. Here's another pic. Much easier to see now.

Chuck, Your stove might have been made by the Keeley Stove Co.. They were in Columbia PA. for a good many years and it's not a big stretch to say they would have made stoves marked Columbian. They were a large manufacturer so google should have a lot of info on them.

I do believe you are correct Harry. I did a google search, and it steered me to this.

Chuck,
You should get that letterhead in the auction. It would really be nice to display that, framed, with your finished stove.

There is a similar letterhead on the Foundry page, but that one is a receipt, and has been written on. It's dated 1898.
This one in the auction appears to be bonded blank stationary. NICE indeed.
