Thought I Found Gold - WW #2A Skillet
« on: October 31, 2013, 04:01:20 PM »
I was very excited when I picked this one up and was told the price that my vision got a bit fuzzy as I forked over the $15. After all, how often does one come across a Wagner Ware #2A skillet in the wild, much less one for so cheap? I cradled it like a baby all the way home. I had found treasure!

The next morning, after I had calmed down a bit, I looked it over and immediately came crashing back down to earth.

CRACK!!!  :o :( :'( :'( :'(

Ah well, easy come, easy go...  ::)

Frank....I did the same thing to a block heat ring #5.   Got it for $12 and ran off.   Later on took a close look.....cracked....oh well.   Hang it and tell no one!!!!

Cheryl, I half blame it on the extra large coffee I drank just before walking the flea. When I saw it, my eyes glazed over and I just forked over the cash. ARGH!

Will, that's EXACTLY what I intend to do! "Please don't touch that small one, it's very very rare..."  ;D

Things work out.
If you would have saw the crack you might have put it down and walked away.
Although cracked, it is a piece that most of us will never see except for the pic you posted.

Tom, I truly thank you for that. I tend to forget how fortunate I am to be in an area rich with affordable and relatively rare CI. I cannot be certain that I'll ever see another one of these skillets either. I'm glad it's a part if my collection now, even with the crack.

When I checked the BB, the #2 and #2B were pictured, but the #2A wasn't. Rare indeed! ;)
