Unmarked Wagner strange markings
« on: November 05, 2013, 10:13:58 PM »
So I know this skillet is an unmarked Wagner.  The strange thing to me about this skillet is that you can definitely see where it should say "11 inch skillet.  Made in the USA "(or whatever the exact wording is)  It is not really a ghost nor is it ground off.  Is this just an example of a worn pattern where this skillet should have come out with no markings?  It is a first for me.  Thanks for your help!

Someone filled in the pattern at the factory and made it.   Looks to be a 70's or 80's skillet?

Thank you.  That's sort of what I was assuming, but I hadn't seen anything like it come across here yet.

I have a couple of unmarked Wagner pans where the lettering actually looks smeared. I think that they didn't bother to clean off the patterns between moldings, and the letters built up sand or talc over time. This had the net effect of filling them in.
