Hard to say by that picture... sure looks rough.
It looks like an Iron Mountain, and there are reproductions out there.
Iron Mountains are smoother....... :-/

My guess is a scrape in seasoning ,  by the way he has all this piled up,

obviously a hands on buying method to be sure of what your getting

This listing is about 3 hours from me. Talked to him on the phone. Rough for sure...Like you say, to buy site unseen a gamble at best. He took the grinder to them so he could send me some pics..i advised against this action. Supposed to send me a bunch of photos but have not heard anything yet. He may possibly think these are worth alot of money. I suggested he check ebay to see that only certain items in pristine condition fetch top dollar. If he gets back to me I'll let you know

Hey Randy

i sent two e-mails and called,   no answer back ,

i agree , serious rust factor,  and  to not touch them b4 buying makes me uncomfy...  My sister lives in  Sudbury,  and IF i had gotten any  half decent photos I would have had her pick them up for me

BTW,  original  Elliot Lake boy myself  ,  good to meet northern neighbour

hope they " pan" out  for you :)

Mike

Ha...cool. Northern Ontario neighbour. This internet sure does make the world a bit smaller. When I spoke with him he seems decent enough for sure. I'm sure a few calls and emails got him googling and thinking he has vast riches. He did send me a pick originally of an old Findlay, but just the bottom of the pan. Got some offshore stuff in there as well. I was thinking of making an offer for the lot...but something telling me not to.  If ya could get the lot for couple hundred or so might not be to bad. Lot of cleaning and finishing in them crates,
Cheers

Randy,

I've been wanting one of those LODGE 'Sportsman series' Dog skillets...  If it becomes available for sale or trade, please IM me!

Sincerely,  ~Larry~

Will do Larry. What would be an OK price to buy that in the current condition? This guy is just not getting back to me or anyone else it seems

I suspect some of the cherry pieces( if any in good shape ) will be gone by the time he decides to send proper photos to justify the drive out that way Larry.
