Commercial grade Aluminum saute pan
« on: December 17, 2013, 04:08:08 PM »
I picked this up today for under 5 bucks.  Seems the previous owner tried to clean the bottom with a file and has no hallmarks,

10" X 3.5 "

Only markings are  #24 ( lid and pot ), and  three leaf clover in a circle.

It does have  a bit of a warp on bottom,  can I bang this out?

I have read about how to polish it  and plan to do so.

I've also read that one is supposed to  "season" it as well ?

Appreciate any input and ID if possible

Thanks
Mike

Not sure on that, looks like a nice piece, will ask around.

Bang it flat.   Use a piece of wood on it.   I straighten my aluminum that way.

I got myself a polishing kit to attach to drill,  Although it's not as  shiny as I'd like (yet ) thought I'd update photos

Hope you all have safe and happy holiday

I decided to break her in today by deep frying potato chunks

Lesson  for the day is   HOTTTTTT  handle,  if you think  a cast iron pan handle gets hot lol   try one of these

Nice item.  Is the handle steel or aluminum?  I have commercial Wagner and the handles are nickel plated steel.

Based on the way it scratches and polishes, I'm going to say aluminum handle  Will
