Roundish muffin pan - Identification possible?

Seems totally unmarked, but looks old to me.

Sits on a base and spins.  Usually advertised as a nail holder.  It is not cookware.

Cobbler's nail holder, as far as I know.

Yep, Tom is right. As opposed to a hardware store nail bin. The hardware store version was much larger, 4 maybe 5 feet in dia. and multi tiered. Nails were scooped out and sold by the pound. This nail holder pictured, was used at the cobblers bench where small amounts of various nails were at easy reach.

Very cool, thank you for the information.  I honestly thought it was some type of cornbread pan or something.  This is my first non cookware CI piece.  Now I have to go shopping for the base.....ugh, OCD don't fail me now.

Happen to have one in front of me at this moment.  J C Kupferle in St Louis  made them along with the majority of the fire hydrants sold nationwide.  After much research, it was identified as a revolving countertop nail display. I use it to hold nail clippers, aluminum can tabs, preferably the red ones with the crown cutout, chunk change and such.  I can see where it would come in handy in a shoe shop to keep an assortment of nails within reaching distance of the shoe last and cobbler's bench.

I'm just glad I have you guys to fall back on before I just plow ahead and try to cook muffins in something like that. :)
