BSR Skillets
« on: February 16, 2014, 12:20:06 PM »
Hi Ya'll. A couple of pics. of Old BSR No. 8. Check out what appears to be Hand Scribed No. 8 w/Dot at top and Letter X. They both have V handle all the way to Skillet Wall. The teardrop is same on both. Pouring spouts are same. Length of handle same. The 8 . X is heavier than 8P. Thicker walls and bottom. What ye thank Dewayne,Roger and Tom? I gave 5 bucks fer it few yr ago.Could this be one of the earliest Skillets from BSR? Bobby

Can you add some photos showing the entire skillet, both top and bottom?

Looks old, I like it.  I only have one older one like that.  I bought it at an antique mall outside of Birmingham while traveling.

I have quite a few with similar type numbers in different sizes, I seem to recall discussion on here these were thought to be the Red Mountain series or era.

Correction---BSR Skillet 8 . X does have larger pour spouts. Could this have been poured maybe in the 1920s? Just curious. Its a hefty skillet. Bobby

Need a photo of the top skillet as well. The older BS&R had very large graceful pouring lips.
