Canton First Monday Trade Days
« on: April 20, 2015, 10:04:26 AM »
Does anyone ever trade at the First Monday Trade Days in Canton, Tx?

I plan to take my family this month and hope I can get some pointers from some experienced traders.

Thanks,
Micah

There are lots of vendors there and you will see some iron.  I always try and haggle.  Some will and some won't.  Watch the prices though, some think their iron is gold plated.
As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

I go several times a year. There are a LOT of pavilions with many of the new items like jewelry, candles, clothes, etc. I like to look around on the outside areas of the original trade day site where you will find the one pavilion with antiques.  You can also find some nice items in the blue civic center building but I don't find much iron in there.  Roger is right that some people ask silver weight for cast iron but I have found some great items for good prices over the years.  That's where I found my 2800 wheat stick pan.....
Have fun and wear comfortable shoes.  This place is big!

The antiques pavilion is 6000 and 6500 and there are some under the covered walkway by it.
