$9.00 Scotch bowl...

Gate marked, number 2 from the looks of it. No idea what manufacturer but it'll clean up nicely with some elbow grease and lye.

All cleaned up, some pitting on the bottom and a few good spots on the inside, handle is out of whack. but for $9.00, I like it.

And flipping through some catalogs I have here, I think this is a match - Clare Brothers 1893. Nubs on both sides of the rim, handle mount seems to be the same.

And bought a straight pot today, 3 legged. It's in lye at the moment, looks like a 1890's James Smart. I'll post pics in a couple of days, it's going to have to soak for a while.

Clare Brothers is a new one to me.  Do you have a catalog on them or other information, so that we can add them to our Foundry list?

The picture seems to match your bowl down to the outward slant of the ears too, as well as the nubs.

That's a nice piece Mike. Pretty impressive for a company to survive for so long.


My other laptop with all the info is kind of sick at the moment Greg. When I get it cleaned up...
