The Wagner/GHC Egg Poaching Pan with Glass Lid - Time Frame?
« on: August 13, 2022, 01:09:36 PM »
If you have ever wondered when Wagner/GHC made the Egg Poaching Pan with the Glass Lid, I have found some catalog pages that will give you at least part of the time frame during which this pan was sold. The catalog page shown here is from 1972, and I have a similar catalog with the same ad from 1975.
At least that’s a start.
Below is a link to show the actual pan that appeared in a recent auction.

The Patent on the Egg Cooker was initially filed on Feb 16, 1971.

The earliest advertising (newspaper ads and articles) that I have found are dated April of 1971.

Thank you for posting that Cheryl. It really helps tie together some of the random factoids I've come across. I knew there was a reason why I've kept hanging around here for the past 10 years.

That lid is the hard to find!
Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.

Know what you mean Dwayne. I passed on a few that were missing the lid. Can't remember seeing a lid by itself. :scratchchin:

I have both the pan and the lid.  I have used it and it actually works pretty good!!  Cheryl....I'll have to see if I can enlarge your article and maybe try something other than just poaching eggs.

Scott

Just figured it out....if you click on the article, it enlarges....thanks
