Newbe
« on: July 15, 2021, 10:13:18 PM »
Hello to all. I am a 70 year old retired electrician that has always used Cast iron. Everyone used it so I knew it must be good. I am from Louisiana and boy or girl, no matter, if you cant cook a little by the time you are 12 or 13 you may end up in special ed. class. That was then, this is now and I still love my Iron Pots. I live and work on a ranch in the Texas Big Bend area. I recently found a Wagner Ware Sidney -O- 1285 oval roaster complete with rack, lid and handle under a stack of junk in the barn. It really cleaned up nice and I can't wait to use it. While looking to date the roaster I discovered your site and could not help checking in to see what I could learn. I hope while here I can contribute just one small thing so I will not feel like a free loader.

Welcome to the WAGS Forum Barry, from another 70 something retired electrician out of Local 11 in Los Angeles, CA.  I can't claim to be Texan, but do have a son and family living in Comanche, TX.  I have loved cooking in cast iron and have tried to pass that love along to my kids as well.  We love to see pictures of cast iron and aluminum cookware, so if you want to post your oval roaster, we'd like to see it.

Welcome Again,    :icon_bananas:  :welcome:   :icon_bananas:
