Lodge has two new pieces in their recently released baking line of iron.

The rectangular pan should be great for cookies. I demonstrated baking Focaccia in one when I was there last. It is a nice pan that I use at home too. This new baking series is quite light when compared to other cast iron. The two pans listed below both have about the same baking surface area. It depends on whether you prefer a round or rectangular pan. The rectangular pan weighs less in this case. It weighs about 7 1/2 pounds. The round pizza pan weighs just under 10 pounds. Depending on how many cookies your friend needs to bake, she may need to pans.
