New pan
« on: December 25, 2022, 04:09:51 PM »
I just acquired this pan yesterday, cooked in it last night.
I have no idea what it is worth but I paid $70 for it.
What do I have here? Was it a good buy?

It does have a slight wobble, and it will spin on the floor. However that warping is not really visible so it is slight. As far as I can tell so far it cooks great. I am guessing it is probably hard to find a pan that old that is still perfectly flat. Any ideas on how old that pan is, 1940ish to 1959? Rough guess as to it's value?
Not that it matters this pan is my new go to 12" pan, love to find a top.

Hi Tommy.

Your Stylized Wagner smooth bottom, 10 skillet , would have been produced from 1933 thru 1959.

There are flat ones without warp out there.

The frustration that can occur, is when you know it is FLAT when you examine it, and then when you heat it up.... it becomes a spinner!
(doesn't happen often but it is a possibility!)

Blue Book values are less than what you gave.
The #10 is a more common size.
Hope that helps!

Your 10 Wagner is a great user for the price.

The frustration that can occur, is when you know it is FLAT when you examine it, and then when you heat it up.... it becomes a spinner

That seemed to be a trend with the Griswold Block logo 11s that I have had, but not for other marks.  Anyone else observed this?
Best Regards,
Neal
