Wagner Ware/Magnalite model numbers
« on: February 16, 2023, 10:27:36 PM »
Hey guys what do the letters mean at the end of the model number. Like I am looking at the roaster pots and I see 4267P and 4267M. What does the letters mean?

Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,

The 4267 is Magnalite Oval Roaster.   The letters are likely a Pattern mark (which may have denoted which pattern was used, or the position on the pattern).

When you look at both roasters they look the same. There is no noticeable pattern difference that I can see.

I am really looking for the 4269 which is the largest one they made. I do see them as just 4269 and 4269M. Just do not know what the difference could be..

I double checked my Catalogs before answering...   Because Wagner did do some 'different' things with their Cast Aluminum and Magnalite lines (with Catalog numbers and other letters that differ from the Cast Iron production.... )  Did not see anything suspicious...

I am wondering if the P meant polished finish and the M meant matt finish

I don't see anything in the catalogs regarding 'different finishes' in the Magnalite line.

and ... some of the Letters shown in the catalogs do not seem to appear on the product.

The letter "C" appears as a suffix on quite a few Magnalite items in catalogs, but I suspect that denoted an item that  included the "cover".
