Cast iron Dutch Oven
« on: June 09, 2023, 09:53:37 PM »
This was my grandfather's and has been sitting in a shed for the 62 years since his passing. I've cleaned it up and was wondering who made it. The workmanship seems a little rough, but it's in relatively good shape. Any input as to it's value or origin would be greatly appreciated.

Martin stove and range, or its predecessor King stove and range.

Slightly rough workmanship is sometimes a characteristic of Martin S&R  items.

David, there is currently a 'similar' Martin piece up for sale on a FB Sales Group.

That piece is a #14 Camp Spider.... looks similar to this #12 Camp Oven (yours) but with a long side handle...
The condition of this piece is not as good as yours appears to be....

Current bid is over $250.00 and still going.........

Thanks for the prompt replies. I figured it would be some unidentifiable el cheapo from the 1940s or 50s. Y'all have made my day!
