Unable to post, no notification of failure.
« on: February 08, 2024, 09:29:41 PM »
This is largely a "test message". I had spent a non trivial amount of time reviewing forum guidelines, creating account with my real info, documenting a piece found on an old New England property, and soliciting info from other users.

It's like it never happened. I never did get an initial email confirmation that my account was created,  I checked all gmail folders, I also never got notification that my post was or was not created.

I assume based on guidelines that everything is a manual approval for new members. I posted to the "how much is my item worth" forum, as it seemed straightforward. I waited several days for the post to get approved/appear before bugging you all here.

I'd like an opinion on a Scotchbowl 782 ERIE (no quotes), but the gatekeeper system here is locking me out from the informed.

Id post the photos here, but I don't want to get demerits for posting in the wrong section.

I'll defer to your advice, but I've run out of hoops to jump through.

Hello Westley,

And Welcome to WAGS!

I am sorry you experienced difficulty posting.

I checked the panel logs, and it appears that today is the first time that you have logged in and attempted to post.

You should have received an email back on January 27 when your profile was approved, sent to Wes.laquerre@gmail.com.  Is this the correct email address?

I do not see any errors on the error logs.

Did you click the post button under the box?

Did any messages display or did it appear to have posted?

Were you attempting to add attachments?

Hey thanks for getting back to me.

I'm sure I did not receive an autogenerated email on that day after registration. I distinctly remember checking back obsessively for it. I used "wags" as the search term in Gmail for that day, but I just double checked all messages and nothing arrived that day or subsequently.

Other than that i thought some of the real members only forums sounded by really interesting, but it's restricted for I'm assuming reasons.

For all I know my issue could have been a script blocker on my end. I've disabled shields in brave browser, adblockers off.

Either way I'll give it another shot. Thanks for the sanity check!

I just created a new post, attached 5 images, and submitted it.
The site took me back to an (empty/unpopulated) form for creating a new post.
No error or acknowledgement.
I do not see the post on my own account / posts history.
I am sane and of sober mind.

It's kinda gotten to the point this isn't worth the hassle for 1 item question. No personal offense intended,

I think I'll just set a moderate starting price and pay a few bucks for advertising, I'll set a high buy now but will set to accept offers. If we figure out the permissions issue, I welcome feedback.

Otherwise, I do seem to be able to post here. Can I attach photos to this thread?

Westley, I suspect that the issue is the photo attachments, at the Server level.

When this happens, I simply scroll down and click the 'Post' Button again, and then for a THIRD time, scroll down and click the 'Post' Button again.

Usually it is Third Time Lucky....  :cheesy:

We recently moved to a Newer Server farm set up, which appears to have a glitch. (combined with an unknown security feature which the host is going to need to figure out).

This is the only work around I have found that works... and it appears to only occur when "attachments" are placed on a new post.

There are other Boards that are available to Wagner and Griswold Society Members, but still a lot of information and Boards available to the Public (non-members)...
