Thanks Spurgeon! I live in the SF Bay Area. Time-wise antique shopping is a no-go right now, and we're really missing it. It truly was our "daily user." Plus, a lot of thrift store pans here are recent Lodge stuff, with that rough inside cooking surface.
My priorities are the lighter weight and smooth cooking surface of an old pan, and having no wobble. Plus, not a recast! I'm pretty sure the last pan I got on ebay back in 2011 was a recast. It's says Martin, but it seems too heavy, there's uneven interior curves, and the "8" looks like a second grader wrote it in almost dry concrete. It has been consigned to the outdoor grill, for mushrooms and onions.
