Nickel (or chrome?) plated BSR #3S
« on: July 27, 2017, 06:19:13 PM »
Saw this today. Anybody know who played BSR skillets? Maybe a homemade job?

I didn't buy it, but thought it was pretty interesting.

I would be suspect if that is actually a BSR, the underside of the handle (scoop) and the quality of the casting are rough at least to me.
The + sign and the 3 dots in the scoop are also strange, The dots I have seen on the hammered unknown iron I have seen

I believe that is a BSR/ASW "S" Series (smaller) No. 3....

However, ASW/BSR did not plate pieces, so I would suspect an aftermarket plating or paint job, which would account for some of the observable defects.

The 'DOTS' on ASW/BSR pieces have been routinely observed inside the handle cutout as seen above, and occasionally on the bottom of skillets with letters and or numbers.  :)

I wonder if with the smaller skillets if the pattern didn't have multiple skillets on it. And the dots ID'd which skillet on the pattern. The 4 dots would have been the 4th skillet on that Pattern.

Is this silver enamel possibly? Seen a lot of enameled BSR from around that era
