An Oddball BSR #14 Skillet

For your viewing pleasure, here is an odd BSR #14 skillet. It has “Made In USA” at 12 o’clock, but instead of having “NO. 14 15IN.” at 6 o’clock like a true Disamatic era Century pan, it has a Red Mountian-esque “14 ” mark only.

We have seen quite a few of the #14's with this type of marking....

IMO, based on this type face of the '14', this was likely the earliest Century 14 skillet, from 1950 thru (at least) mid 1960's, and possibly beyond into the Disamatic era.  These have been found with Century labels attached. 

When the use of more modern practices began in the 50's, the more modern typeface seems to have begun...
