our old pot yields approx 100 gal. it is cast iron and had a small opening near the bottom and i/m told plugged by the previous owner who made stew for various groups then joined our club about 35 years ago. seemingly,it was part of some industrial machinery. Your pictures from our web site shows the pot. Duke is right! It is called a wash pot by the supplier--AGRI-VA  in Petersburg, VA. THANK ALL FOR GIVING US SOME DIRECTION!!

I need to see a photo of this pot before I comment further.  Isn't, like, a 90 gal cast iron pot technically a "cauldron", the things witches use to brew stuff in all the fables?

You must not live in New York State.  The liberals here have decided that fires in your backyard should not be allowed unless in a grill.  I think....

My advice is to fill a swimming pool with crisco vegetable oil, heat the pot up and shove it over the edge.

Sorry Richard, I don't see any camp ovens. I do agree that open fire is how we do it though.

Yair,
My rule is if I can't pee in my backyard without offending my neighbors, I don't want to live there. If I can't build a fire in my back yard I definitly won't live there.
