How are people getting a perfect matte black finish on their iron? See the picture attached. I looked at other pictures of the same skillet and it looked exactly the same, so i don't think its the lighting making it look that way.
I have done a few so far and just finished one that is almost a perfect matte black... but i have no clue what i did differently to get it that way?
Does it matter if you do lye before electro?
I am assuming the amount of time you leave it in there corresponds with how black it is??
I have been using pam... at 500.
Any insight? I would love for my pieces to look perfect!
