Yeah haha. So I seasoned 4 of them again. I did a quick season last week to keep from rusting.
Pam for 15-20 min 300-350 wipe down and again. Take it out wipe down let it cool. Didn't really get dark IMO. Didn't smoke either

So did two with Pam and two coconut tonight
30 min @ 350 wipe down. 20 min @ 400. And smoked it up.
Turned oven off let it cool slow. Them took out wiped down.

Still doesn't look any darker:/. I want the dark look! :(

The Following suggestions are for using PAM, as I have no experience with Coconut Oil:

Prior to applying oil, take the piece up to 500°.
Remove carefully (100% cotton terry towels folded over work well)
PS... remove all labels and tags... guess why... (voice of experience on melting tags onto CI) ;D

Place in/on large cardboard box/surface... (think pizza box)
Spray with Pam... Lots of smoke is good. Think Carbonization on contact.
Wipe with scrunched up paper towels... wipe again.. wipe again...and again... (Bounty Paper towels rock)
Return to 500° oven for one hour...hope you live alone, the smoke can create relationship problems........ 8-)
Repeat for second coat.
Report findings promptly! ;) ;)

Wow. That high and that long for pam huh.
I read some people say somewhere 20-30 minutes at like 250-300 ish and it got dark.
I think I call bs or something is extremely different going on here. Lol

Now you will have to try some Grapeseed Oil!
Experimenting is fun!  ;D

My experience is that it can give a darker patina on some iron.
My Iron Mountains turned darker with the Grapeseed...
It's fun to experiment!

I'm actually playing with Crisco now that my seasoning skills have improved.

Seasoning was the most difficult step for me to master.

Now the new Pam, with Palm Oil, has been an improvement IMO.

I really like the chocolate brown color. Looks awesome. A clean piece just sucks right into it.

One or two of those we did with coconut oil. Looks about the same to me.

Not really getting dark black yet just brownish. But I like it so oh well lol

I'm a newbie at all this CI stuff, but I am enjoying it and researching in earnest.  I have little experience with seasoning, and never even thought to try PAM.  I had read that grape seed oil has a very high smoke point and seasoned my skillet with that.  500 deg. F for 1 hour.  I'm very pleased with the result.
