3M synthetic steel wool
« on: March 01, 2020, 09:08:37 AM »
I have been using 3M brand synthetic steel wool for a lot of my woodworking projects and have recently tried using it while cleaning iron, I like it because I can use it in both vinegar and water and it does not rust, simply rinse when done using the pad and let dry.
Just thought I would pass it on.
Comes in a number of finishes from super fine to coarse and is cheap, reusable and does not rust.

Could you post a link to the product you use? It looks like this product probably contains a silicon carbide abrasive mineral, much like the Lodge rust eraser in the thread I posted a while back. It is not as abrasive as aluminum oxide, but abrasive nonetheless.
