What a great find. :) I've taken the liberty of sizing your photo down to a good size for screen viewing.

(still shaking head) What idiot would throw this out? Surely even if one had never heard of the name Griswold, one would still realize that this is not trash and would at least have given it to charity?

I saw one sell on ebay with the trivet a while back for $265.  Is this the same one you're asking about?

I was posting while you were replying.  The trivet would make it worth more, but on ebay you never know.  It looks to be in great condition.  Just be sure to check carefully for hairline cracks.  The book value says $275 without the trivet, but the books are usually high.  Good luck with it.  I wish some of my neighbors would put something out like that on trash day.  ;)

Yes, you can post your auctions here, unlike on the eBay boards where you cannot.

Well I'll say one thing Robert, no two things, I lied. I have seen several of these number fives, and own SOME, but I have never seen a better one than yours, thats one, and two, I have never seen one come at such an inexpensive price, SO, thus far, the cheapest one that I have ever seen is the best one I have ever seen.

SO, Merry Christmas to you Robert.  ;)

I sold one recently with the trivet for $450 and then bought another set for $300.  $200-250 without the trivet would be about right
