Wow what a lot of nice pictures. It looks like its all there except for the chimney, which can be replaced. But I can't tell if its porcelain. I'm gonna look at your pictures again. Do you know if its porcelain? Is it porcelain?

OH, the answers to my questions are all indicative as to the value of this piece. :)

Yes it's the grey porcelain. it's dirty and dull.
The chimney is missing.

What is the surface on the front doors? They look like chrome paint. Are they? Well if the porcelain was in good shape and the front doors were chrome and it was all there it would be worth quite a bit. As it sits imo its worth about eighteen hundred, give or take.

I think it's nickel plate if that sounds correct.
Thank you for the info. Trying to decide if I should try to restore or sell.
Maybe the doors are nickle plate and the legs are chrome plate, the legs are peeling and the doors are not.

Thank you Cheryl, you do a lot of cleaning and restoring, do you have an idea what it would cost to replate the nickel and chrome on this?

I would say that it came out originally nickel on the doors and the legs. It came out a top notch Dolly. By that I mean the highest priced one. There are a few different styles or there were a few different styles that came out. If you were to restore it I would say you would be putting too much money in it. Imo the best you could do is about break even. I have had nickel replacement work done and its expensive.

Perry is the expert on these for sure, as he has had it done.

I have not had replating done on any pieces (Only DE plating)

I agree that the door and legs are nickel.

Chrome wasn't around in that era, as far as I know.

The porcelain on this is where the real challenge will be.

I say that because I am seeing a bit of rust/oxidation throughout the porcelain areas. And cleaning Porcelain is always challenging on a 'good' day.. Still... makes my fingers itch and nose twitch to want to lay hands on it... :D

Chrome was in its infancy then so I doubt very much if it was used so nickel was used instead. I think chrome was used sometimes to replace nickel. At first I thought maybe that was done with this piece.

Your missing the towel rack and trivet to make it complete and maybe the ash rake. Perry, what do you make of the inside of the doors not being marked DF?

A closer look at the picture...hard to see, but I see a DF on the door(s) .(think the enamel helps hide it a bit) I do see the other parts marked (grate & reservoir cover)But then again...once while staring at a piece of toast...I saw..... ;) ;D
Glenn, hope you don't mind, but the marks are one of the indicators of authenticity , so tried to show ...

Hello Harry. The towel rack and the trivet are a plus if you got them, but I would not hold that against it for not having them. The doors are alright Harry the 'DF' are right where Jim has them marked. They are not as clear as they are in other places but they definitely are there. Lets buy this one Harry. She's good to go. :-/

I wasn't very clear in my post above. I was referring to the back of the oven door which appears unmarked.

On mine the DF is on the lower left of the inside/backside. If you look at the circle swirl, just below it, you can barely see it, but I'm pretty sure that's the DF. They are kind of smudged up on this stove but they are there.

Jim, that area you reference is initials. So somebody put their initials on the pattern or maybe did it for this one time pour.

Also the ash pay sure does look to be in excellent shape. Usually, or at least the ones I have seen, are more beat up from use. Used but not abused I should say.

Thanks to everyone for the info. Don't mind at all Jim. There is DF on bottom left of inside of door like Perry said your markers are on what looks like '13' on the top right of door.
