Jerry,
You got a very good deal on that iron but the frame and irons are mismatched.  That frame would be for the later, 1922 patented irons (or the later irons with the very heavy wire handles) and with pattern number 928 or 928N (both irons are the same).   The 1922 irons or the later, heavy wire handle irons would fit frames with pattern numbers 152, 153, 154, or 155 with the first two being the low and high with bailed handle and the second two being the low and high with side handles.  Bailed handles are original for the heart star but the side handles could be  had if ordered that way according to a c.1930 catalog.
Your irons have the tits at one side so the frame needs to have the small notches at 4 and 8 o'clock.  The later 1922 irons did away with the tits so used a different frame.  Your irons would go on frames with patter numbers 327 or 328 (low, high side handles) or 913 or 915 (low, high bailed frame).

Well, I started this thread saying I didnt  know anything about waffle irons but I didnt intend to learn the hard way with a mismatched set.    :D :D :D :D :D

Guess I need to post an ad now for a base?   ??? ;D
