UNUSUAL SKILLET

I saw an unusual skillet today at a flea market.  It was bigger than a Griswold #14 and a bit smaller than the #20.  Cast iron, smooth bottom, no gate mark and no writing or numbers on it either and VERY heavy, the casting was at least half again as thick as Griswolds.  It had two handles, opposite each other about 6" long each, with a hang hole in each one.  Also had 2 pouring spouts.
Anybody know what this thing is or who made it.

I don't know anything about the pan John and have not seen one.  Sounds like a strange one indeed.

John, were the handles like skillet handles?I've cooked with lots of these large pans and have never seen one like you have described...if the handles are like skillets. I do seem to remember a 16 pan like the 20 but not very common..Usually we would only use 16 DO's and 20 inch pans..Most of our stuff in the 40's and 50's out here (AZ) came from Lodge as that was what all the co ops   and company stores carried. This pan sounds like some kind of a frankenstien creation with those type of handles. Paul

Paul.  the handles were like on the skillets, not like the handles that are on the #20's.  the handles were also pretty nondescript, nothing unusual even where they were mounted to the pan.   I would have bought the damn thing but the guy wanted $250. for it and knowing nothing about a pan like that, much less ever having seeing one, I passed on it.

John, You are  right that would be an easy one to ride by. Sure sounds like some body dreamed this thing up and made it in his back yard.LOL...Paul
