Has anyone ever run across a nickeled scotch bowl?  I saw a #2 (p/n 780) slant TM at a shop and thought is was quite unusual.

Yes,  I have seen ONE!!   That is it,  and to think about it.   I think it was a Wagner,  not Griswold.   Hard to find.

Can't remember if I've seen a nickel Scotch Bowl but have seen a few other pots and bowls of a few different makes.  I would expect them to be scarce since the new cost was exactly twice that of black iron.  Griswold and Wagner and Favorite and maybe others made nickeled hollowware in the earlier days.  If the plating got to be in not too good condition maybe some of these pieces were disposed of whereas black iron was easier to restore.  I like nickeled pieces but not chrome.

John, all the nickel I have seen have that not so mirror like look to them.  The chrome has a more of shine or mirror like look.  They can be difficult to tell apart depending on how much of the finsh is deteriorated.

here's a chrome one

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
