Eccentric Buldge Kettle
« on: April 26, 2005, 11:01:01 PM »
Just purchased a #7 extra large eccentric buldge kettle, but couldn't find anything in any of the books about it. It says "ERIE" pat. #826, with a B on the bottom. There is a #827, whitch is a #8. It is in excellent condition. Didn't have any pictures in the books either. Wondered if anyone has seen one this size.

Joe,
That's probably a very rare piece you found.  Also made in sizes 8 and 9.  For some reason this style of Griswold kettle is rarely seen.  Not sure I ever had the large one but think I did have one.  The B" on the bottom could be because it is a "Style B" and is shown in Griswold Catalog No.45 as such (and probably quite a few other catalogs).  Your kettle was $2.10 polished and $4.20 nickel plated.

Thanks for the info Steve. Mine is the polished one. I think the eccentric botton is neat looking. Wish I could find some more of them, but most of the older kettles I have found are usually cracked.
