Wagner Wards Cast Iron 1430
« on: January 19, 2009, 02:44:55 PM »
Yesterday I picked up a Wagner WARDS CAST IRON skillet c/n 1430.  The Red Book has this particular item listed as a number 4 skillet with a diameter of 8 1/8 inches.  Why is this skillet the exact same size as my Wagner # 5?  Both books have this 1430 listed as a #4 Wards skillet.  Is this a mistake in both books?  I am sure that someone can answer my question and I will appreciate it.

Sincerely,

Jeff Seago

Gotcha stumped, don't I!!   ;)  Just kidding, I know someone on here will be able to answer my question.  I just don't want my post to get buried.

Must be a mis-print. My 1430 is about 6-1/2".
Seen it all. Done it all. Can't remember most of it!

Is that 6.5" across the bottom of the skillet???  Mine, measured across the top from rim to rim (not the spouts), is 8 1/8".

My curiosity has been sparked!

Yep that's what mine is as well.  I think your right on the money with a misprint.  It is odd that it misprinted in both books, the catalog number I can understand, but in the information pages???

Thanks Sam
