Let's play the "who made it" game

Hi all,

I work part time (more often now that it's my only job) for a catering company.  When we do buffet style service we often use cast iron skillets as serving dishes for pasta.  They take a sterno flame well and don't heat up too badly to burn the contents if we keep them up on bricks.  Anywho I never paid that much attention to them and figured we used cheap Chinese crap.  Tonight we had four stacked up on top of each other and I took a look.   All four were 14" skillets so they were good sized.  Three I could easily peg for old Lodge with the 3 breaks in the heat ring and a big 14 on them (one said made in the USA).

Here's the one I couldn't ID.  Now I apologize in advance for the pictures but my Blackberry phone camera only does so well and has no macro.

Those are my shoes in the pour spout picture.  I didn't want to distract you with me in a tuxedo so I just took the shot of my shoes.  ::)

The picture of the bottom is not good enough to see if it had bottom markings and honestly I don't remember.  I do know it fit size-wise with the 14 Lodge SK's but the handle and helper handle is definitely different.

What'zit?

That one is a BS&R. You can spot them by the hanging hole in the helper handle.

Hooray!  My gut feeling was correct!  Now I can go to bed happy.  (or feeling a wee bit smarter)

I'm impressed there are WAGGERS up at this hour of the night.  Time for bed and CI dreams.

Be careful, there are some out there with that same assist tab that aren't BSR.   The best way to tell is the V shape of the bottom of the handle.

Thats the skillet that got me looking for info about BS&R. Roger told me it was probably a Century, but due to lack of information it would probably go unnamed. The BS&R #12 also has the asist tab.
