I looked at the repro.and fakes page and mine looks like the late model at top right of page. The heat ring on mine is not warn off like the pix. It has a small 3 under the handle where it looks like a stamp on the pix.  The cast is uniform like the grooved one on left.  Not rough like the bottom group.  It was bought at a farm auction in Iowa around 1980. I cleaned it up a little with vinager.  It doesn't look like it had been used much. Is it real or a fake and is it worth anything.  Please give me some help.  Russ

   Hoped you can stay around and join in on our group here. We like new people comming on and giving us things to look at at talk about. With no picture of your lil #0 I don't think anyone would want to say FOR SURE yours is real or fake. The groove handled ones are the most reproduced I am told. If the lettering is nice and crisp and not all runny and the casting is pretty good then its probably a good one. A Picture would tell for sure. Just ask and someone can help ya with the picture posting.

Thanks for  your reply Jesse.  I'm sorry if I didn't explain properly.  It's like the one on the top right of the repos and fakes page but with a nice cast finish like the one with a groove.  It looks like there's a stamp under the handle like mine and mine has a 3.

Like Chuck said. The bottoms are usually the most important picture. That looks good but the bottom will tell for sure.... :)

I say it's a good late production grooved handle toy skillet. The repros look like junk inside and out. Compare this one to the pic red book p.165.  :) Or heck just compared to the one on the repro page is like night and day. THis variation came in the Mother and Daughter set. I ain't gonna say all are not ground cuz I'm not positive of that, but most ain't in the grooved handle variation.

  The only differance I can see is that funny rough place where they took it out of the mold I guess is on the other side of mine. These are both groove handled ones. And you guys said they were real ones.. :)

Chris and Will and Jesse and Ed, I think that this skillet is a genuine griswold, more than likely, one of the later variations. All were not ground on the inside.  ::) Steve Stephens used to do that a lot.  ;D ;D ;D

I agree as well.  The letters are far too crisp for this to be a fake.

You people are great.  What response!!  It all started with skillet 0 I know nothing about but Googled to your Web and got so many replys and opinions.  It's weird that I love to cook, especially with cast iron but was diagnosed about 4 years ago with Hemochromatosis an inherited blood disease.  My body can't rid itself of iron so I have to restrict my iron intake. It's not so bad as long as I restrict my diet, get a pint of blood removed every 6 weeks and don't cook using cast iron.  Go figure.  I would like to sell some of this stuff but with the market so bad, should I wait just sit on it. I have a skillet #8 Erie Pa. U.S.A. #9 Erie Pa. only and a #9 Erie Pa. U.S.A. Dutch Oven with trivet and lid.  Pretty common, huh. Could I get maybe 50 to 100 dollars for the skillet 0.  Thanks Russ
