Wagner Pudding Pan

I found this at a yard sale this weekend and can't find any information on it. Anyone seen a pudding pan before?

  Welcome to the forum. I looked up your pudding pan in the blue book of Griswold and Wagner. I didn't find any value listed or any pictures, but I see that pudding pans were available in sizes 3, 4, 5 1/2,7 and 9 pints.I don't have the red book of Wagner and Griswold(yet). It might have some info. I'm sure one of our other members will check for you.
I also searched Ebay and got no hits.
   I think it's safe to assume it was designed for making pudding. ;D No reason why you couldn't use it for other things though. Did you buy it to use, or are you a collector?
  We have many members who like to use old cookware, as well as collectors. We all have fun talking about our old iron, and just about anything else too.
   Take some time, and look around, I'm sure you will like it here.

I'm a collector ( of way too many things ), an eBayer, as well as a dealer at a local flea market/antique mall. The eBayer/flea market part grew out of what's probably an addiction of buying neat old things. I am sure I am not the only one with a 3 car garage who has all of her cars parked in the driveway?

I think I'll keep it, it's kind of cool. I'll wedge it in above the kitchen counters where my husband won't notice the new addition. If he does, I'll bribe him with pudding.

Ok Chris we're tag teaming these today.  :)

Red book doesn't have a picture but does have the Wagner catalog number 347 listed as a 7pt Pudding Pan as it's marked.  (pg 122)  There are also catalog numbers for a 3, 4, 5-1/2, and 9 pint pudding pan.

I've never seen one but if I had it'd have been here in the forum since I haven't found my local haunts for CI around me yet.

Anyone else have info about this Puddin' Pan?

Welcome to the Forum Barbara.  That is a nice little find.  I haven't seen one of those before.  

Chris and Jason....you will also notice that it is listed in the index under Aluminum items.  Since Will is such a HUGE collector of Wagner aluminum pieces, it is possible that he may have the whole set.....all cleaned and polished up....wadda u say Will.

   Scott is correct. Will, and some other members collect aluminum cookware.
  Some people only stop in once every few days though, so be sure to come back and see what they might have to say about it.
  In the meantime I have searched through all of the old threads to see if this item has been mentioned before. It has not.
  While you are waiting on answers for this piece, feel free to ask any questions about any of your other items.  Sounds like you have quite a few.
  These books we have mentioned are a valuable tool for collectors, and dealers too. Greg Stahl is our webmaster, and he sells these books on his website. The proceeds from book sales help pay for this forum. These books pay for themselves by preventing a collector from over paying for an item. They can also prevent a dealer from pricing an item way below it's market value.

Very nice.   I don't have that one.   There is so many variations of the pudding and pie pans that you will have to collect allot of different pans.

I have a reprint of a 1924 Wagner Catalogue No Thirty and it lists the following sizes of the pudding pan:

Catalouge number        Capacity
    344                         3 Pints
    344                         4 Pints
    345 1/2                   5 1/2 Pints

    349                         9 Pints

Barbara: Your's is the only one I have ever seen. They don't show up on Ebay. Having the whole set of the pudding pans would be something to have.

She wanted a M.O.   And it was a nice offer.  Told her I have bid on them and they have sold for $75 to $125.00   Made a nice offer in between and she accepted.

Considering Barbara said she picked it up at a yard sale, I don't doubt she jumped all over your uncharacteristic offer.  Will, you didn't missplace the decimal point did you.  Sure it wasn't $.75 and $1.25 ????  ;D ;D  Keep hitting those yard sales Barbara.  You know what to look for and where to come back to again.   Glad everyone is happy all the way around.
